How an exclusion diet can help rethink feeding – and introduce our recipes in a targeted and safe way
When is an elimination diet useful – and when is it not?
An elimination diet is a well-founded, proven way to take a structured approach to treating dogs with suspected intolerances or allergies. It's not always necessary – but it's very useful in many cases.
For example, in cases of:
✔ chronic itching or skin changes
✔ recurrent diarrhea or soft stools
✔ unusual behavior after eating
✔ a prolonged odyssey through various foods
✔ the desire to avoid hydrolyzed foods
The goal is not to diagnose medically, but to give the dog a break – and then choose a food that truly suits him.
And then? What happens after the elimination diet?
It's often recommended to cook your own meals after a successful elimination diet. And sure, the theory sounds good: personalized, fresh, and customized. But in reality, everyday life is rarely so predictable. Not everyone has the time to prepare exactly the right ingredients in the right quantities every day. And small mistakes—like too high a fat content, missing supplements, or uneven preparation—can quickly lead to setbacks in sensitive dogs.
This is exactly where Daily Dose comes in.
Our recipes are designed to be seamlessly integrated after an elimination diet – professionally manufactured, carefully structured, and easy to use.
Daily Dose recipes were deliberately developed to be minimalist and transparent – for dogs who need more than a standard food.
Only 4–5 ingredients per meal. Monoprotein – no mixed meat. Low fat content from 3% – ideal for sensitive dogs. Gently steamed and immediately flash frozen. Free from preservatives, citric acid, rosemary extract, etc. No binding agents, flavorings, or herbs. Containing calcium carbonate, high-quality oils, and minerals – our recipes are complete, modular pet foods.
Preservatives? Not with us.
Many dogs don't react to the main ingredient—they react to what's "invisible": synthetic or "natural" preservatives, technological additives, antioxidants, or pH stabilizers. That's why we at DailyDose work entirely without preservatives—no citric acid, no rosemary, no "good additives."
Our meals are flash-frozen after cooking to ensure natural shelf life—without any chemical intervention.
The process – step by step - matching our menu
First, choose a protein source that your dog tolerates well (e.g., lamb → LammourToujour). Use the ingredient list of the selected menu as a guide:
Start with protein—feed only the selected protein source and observe digestion, skin, and behavior.
Add carbohydrates one at a time—only those carbohydrates included in the menu (e.g., potatoes, sweet potatoes, or millet). Test each new ingredient on its own for 1–2 weeks.
Add vegetables one at a time – again only those vegetables from the menu (e.g., zucchini, carrots), again one at a time with an observation phase.
Add minerals & oils – once all menu ingredients are tolerated, gradually add minerals (e.g., calcium carbonate, Kynovit) and oils (e.g., linseed oil). You can purchase the appropriate minerals directly from us on our website.
A quick tip: Note the date, ingredients, and observations – or download our tracking card to keep track.
For which dogs are our recipes particularly suitable?
Our menus are deliberately designed to be well-tolerated even by dogs with special needs – e.g.,
sensitive digestion
skin or coat problems
known intolerances or allergies
special needs due to their history, illness, or life stage
Conclusion: Suitable for everyday use. Clear. Tolerated.
An elimination diet can be the first step toward a better food lifestyle – if it's implemented in a structured manner. Daily Dose then offers exactly what's needed: A food that addresses this clarity, respects the needs – and makes everyday life easier. No hidden additives. No preservatives. No compromises. Simply honest, tolerable dog food – for everyone who truly wants to understand their dog.
The daily dose of health and love for your dog.
