How a dog changed my life – and became my calling
Life's biggest changes rarely come with warning. They stumbled into my home quite unexpectedly, stumbling on four clumsy, messy paws—and to this day, they're called Milo. When Milo came to live with me, I thought I'd be the one explaining the world to him. But it quickly became clear: He'd long since taken charge. Milo showed me what unconditional love truly means. How to stay patient when things get difficult. And what it feels like to rack your brains at night—for someone who means everything to you, but can't say what's wrong with them.
From a special case to cooking yourself – and the idea of Daily Dose
Because Milo is no ordinary dog. He's a little food critic with a very sensitive stomach that regularly pushed us to our limits. Digestive problems, dull fur, countless vet visits – we tried everything: special foods, supplements, supposed allergy remedies. Then I decided on an elimination diet. It was my way to find out for myself what Milo really needed. Cooking from scratch. No frills. No additives. Only what Milo could really tolerate. And suddenly, everything made sense. His tummy calmed down, his fur shone – and in his eyes was that joy of life that I had missed so much. With every bowl of food I prepared for him, the desire grew within me to make that possible for others, too.
What's behind Daily Dose
I wanted to cook dog food that people could really understand.
With openly declared ingredients, no hidden additives, and formulated so clearly that it can be used sensibly even with an elimination diet. Because every dog is unique, and that's exactly what you want to see reflected in the food.
Who I am
I am Michèle Menzi, the founder of Daily Dose.
Dog lover, home cook, and thanks to Milo, a bit of a nutrition expert – not just from books, but because life meant it that way. I know how it feels when nothing works. And I know how wonderful it is when things finally get better. I believe that everything happens for a reason, that Milo didn't come into my life by chance.
It is the most beautiful gift and sometimes also the greatest challenge.
I want to share my experience so that you can reach your goal faster than I did back then, and your dog can finally feel completely comfortable again.
